Engine Core Exchange Policy
Lycoming Service engines, whether new, factory-rebuilt or factory-overhauled, are sold on an exchange basis with a suitable engine core exchanged for credit.
Lycoming’s core exchange is this simple:
Within a generous 4 months from the date your replacement engine is shipped, return a like, complete, operating and active exchange engine core that has a genuine Lycoming crankcase and crankshaft, and there will be no reductions in core value. There will be no penalties or charges for normal wear or normal field repairs.
