Lindbergh-Lycoming Grant Winner to be Announced on July 25 at EAA AirVenture
Williamsport, PA – July 18, 2007 –Many companies are “going green” these days. While companies switch to recycled paper or use special bins to separate recyclables from regular trash, customers are also seeking viable products that are environmentally friendly. Piston engine customers, for example, are craving alternate fuel solutions for their aircraft. Leaded fuels have been the standard for years. Today, those standards are becoming expensive, especially outside
the United States.
Lycoming Engines, an innovator in the general aviation industry, listens intently to its customers. “There are many pilots who only want a Lycoming engine. Our customers require a reliable choice for their airplanes today and tomorrow,” noted Ian Walsh, senior vice president and general manager of Lycoming Engines. “We are focused on engineering viable solutions that meet our customers’ ongoing needs while delivering the highest quality, innovation and customer service.”
Programs such as the Lindbergh-Lycoming Grant are part of Lycoming’s efforts. Walsh added, “The Lindbergh-Lycoming grant encourages the growth of our industry, advancement of aviation technology, and the preservation of our environment.”
This year’s Lindbergh-Lycoming Grant winner will be announced at this year’s EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. A press conference is scheduled on July 25, 2007 at 9:30 p.m. in the EAA Press HQ. For more information, be sure to visit www.Lycoming.com.
